and off we really go!
on e plane, i was watching movie all e way, for 10hrs, 6movies!
dad mum me with all our luggage at singapore changi airport.
by then, my face seems to have "swelled up"! due to difference in climate? not sure y, but it just did! felt like a loster!

*1st jul*
Day 12

the day has finally arrived! dreadfully. =(
at chc international airport!
standing infront of e wishing well, wishing that i do not need to go back singapore! will my wish come thr? well, apparently, not. =(

at the ever-famous christchurch city center
night sight!

there were many different types of cheese available.
i'm not a cheese eater, so i didnt exactly know how to appreicate them!
and that silver huge container, i think its where milk are stored!

stopped by a cheese factory, where they make their cheese!
well, winter being the off-peak season, its not e cheese-making season too! this is due to e lack of high quality milk from e cows! *hehe

see how e sky changes colour!

sun set!
nz has beautiful sunset.
each sunset is different in its own special way!

after our cruise, its back on e roads back to chc.
on our journey back in our car, e sky! e clouds! e sun! e landscape!
i'm so going to miss all these!

beautiful scenics on our cruise.
the sun, the sea, the peacefulness, what else can i ask for!
*perfect!

so cute! so cute!
i should be swimming with them! =(
anyway dolphins "jump" out of e water to catch their breathe and in they go again. so to be able to take such photos, is an acheivement itself. =)
well, e hector's dolphins are playful. they tend to enjoy mingling with swimmers, which should have been me. and "hang" ard cruises.

ok! i didnt get to swim with dolphins, but i managed to see them.
these are the hector's dolphin aka NZ dolphins.
they exist only in NZ, majorly in this habour.
an endangered species and known to be the world's smallest dolphin

cant remember e name of this species. but its a nz native bird!

seagull!
so proud of myself to be able to take such shoots with the SLR super zoom camera!

blowhole!
a pity it didnt blow too much this time!

take a closer look!
this is an existing traditional maori marea!
maori are the indigenous pple of nz. well i took a module on maori society, and was tested in e exams on the marea, so i know! and now i see one with my own eyes!

on our cruise!
enjoying e beauitful view!

e view from where i was was amazing!
somehow, its fortunately that most of e special landmarks and wildlifes are on the left side of e cruise, where i am!

and we're off!
off to explore e habour! and lots of wildlife!

so instead of going out sea to swim with my dolphin, we decided to take e wildlife cruise!
better than nth!
so its boarding time!

along a "lake"!
fly away birds!!!!

on a small bridge to....

exploring the community of Akarao and e locals and their homes.
corners of Akarao that tourists normally dun get to explore and see. we did!

scenic of Akaroa!

*30th jun*
Day 11

a very disappointed morning!
we travelled an hour from CHC to Akarao, me being all ready and excited about swimming with dolphins! something i've been wanting to do so much.
but to my disappointment when i reached the counter, they lady told me its cancel! cancelled? just like that? w/o informing me? i did advance booking and they have my contact details!
my heart sank! i was really disappointed
well, its cancelled due to e wind and sea condition. well, no one to blame, but i'm still disappointed!
yea! that boat is e boat i was suppose to take, to take me out to sea to meet my dolphins!

Sunday, July 08, 2007

"hello! hello! how are u doing?", thats me talking to one of them! *hehe
so cute so cute so cute!

ain't they just soooo cute?
and they're really friendly to us! esp to dad!

part of it, is a small section of handicraft and patchwork shop!
many beautiful beautiful items & patchwork!

went to Wai Ariki!
this place has interesting, one of a kind looking animals!
some are on sales! i want i want i want!

lunch!
nacho! its yummy!
and pumkin soup, i think!

headed to the community library!
main purpose was to use the internet to do our online checkin for our flight back to singapore.

presenting Hanmer Horse!

after an hour of riding thr rivers, steams, hills, valleys etc, we're back!
it was great!
a pity that it was too cloudy, so couldnt see too much view from afar!
but its still nice!

and off we go! on our journey and horse ride!

up onto my chestnut brown colour horse i go!

*29th jun*
Day 10

time for horse riding!
so here's Hanmer Horse Riding Stable. they have approx 25 horses
Le Gite Backpackers at Hanmer Spring.
a really beautiful and homely place to live in!
the hall was much warmer than our rooms.

after a warm "bath" at the hot spring! feeling refreshed. although e mineral smell was quite strong, a nice meal completes it!

temperature of e water approximately 40degree.
comparing to e weather temperature... hmmmm 5degree? or even lower, maybe

look at e thickness of e snow.
even on e benches.
and despite e coldness, ice cream is good!

yup! we were at the rock pool!
beautiful resort too!

dad enjoying himself!
its shiok! so shiok!

we're reached!
M.... Hot Spring Resort! *cant remember how to spell*
note: this isn't e popular Hanmer Spring Hot Spring.
its abt an hour drive away.
we discovered this Hot Spring from bayan. he told me this place is much much nicer than the so highly promoted Hanmer Spring Hot Spring. so i trust him on that!
and i wasn't disappointed! =)
hanmer spring hot spring looks just like a typical public pool area, although its more commonly promoted by NZ tourism board. it
anyway here, we made new friends. 3 japanese. they said this is different from the hot spring they get back in japan.

continuing our drive!

*28th jun*
Day 9

we stayed here! at Hokitika!
this place is lovely!
1st class leh! with qualmark creditation too!
stopped over a salmon farm!
so many salmon!
in e water slping ard.... to being in e freeze waiting to be cooked!

on our drive towards Hokitika!

*27th jun*
Day 8

presenting my most beautiful lake in NZ!
Lake Wanaka.
my 4th time being here.
its still so pretty! but this time less sun! so less sun effect!

our backpacker accomodation in queenstown
well, faith's lowest rating backpackers! =(
but still a good experience being here.
scenic at Queenstown Coronot Peak!

after a tiring day of lessons. i was exhausted and my leg ached.
but e view is simply breath-taking!
and i'm proud to say: I CAN SKI!

snow snow snow! snow everywhere!
see that thingie! its e lift!

tada! thats all!
all dressed up! but just shot of attaching on the ski and be on e ski ground.
well, we didnt bring our camera to e ski ground.
just carrying e gears and walking in e shoes, i'm clumpsy enough
its heavy and its so cold till hands r numb and its kind of difficult to walk with e shoes!

*26th jun*
Day 7

the time has come! for SKIING!
so before we started with lessons, had to get all our gears and stuff.
i was kind of lost though. but yea! the kiwis are helpful pple =)

Saturday, July 07, 2007

ok! after e thrilling activity, time to calm down!
i had lamb steak!
at a resturant known to serve e best quality beef... but i dun exactly think that its that fanastic *opps!

turn here turn there!
it's snowing! its windy! its so cold.
my uncovered lower jaws were numb!

go!
zoom zoom zoom!

now its MY turn!
e serious look on my face.
are u ready?

swinging thr e bushes!

and off dad go!
swinging in e sky!

ok! 1st up! DADDY!
yea! its snowing!

dressing up time!
jumpsuit! i like! but not practical to wear on a daily basis! *hehe

my next thrill seeking activity!
FLY BY WIRE!
that plane was what i got on!
and e hill we were gradually "lifted" to! well, e beginning lifting part is actually e most thrilling and scarey part!

pretty pretty!
its suppose to be Queenstown Winter Festival, but due to heavy snow a few days back, e opening ceremony was delayed. so most programs were delayed too!

queenstown city center!
i was here! 2 years ago too! i remember!

queenstown!
e hotel behind of mum, is e exact same hotel we stayed in during our holiday here 2 years ago!

*25th jun*
Day 6

here we are! in Queenstown!
great chef at work!
but imagine cooking w/o any oil nor sauce!
but it still turned out good!
well, like i said, its e great chef at work! its abt improvencing with what u have!
dinner time!

scenic of Te Anau
e sun is going to set soon!

land for sale!
anyone? anyone interested to build a house here?
me! me!

ok! thats me, trying to balance myself on a pole. a rounded pole!

this is some other part of Te Anau.
beautiful

more ducks!
there was this cute little girl throwing bread into the lake, so e ducks were "fighting" for food!

the sky, the water, the plants, the rocks!

pretty pretty!

we found a hiden route thr some plants, and e adventure dad & me climded thr e bushese. and guess what we found!
this beautiful lakeside!

apart from e animals, this place is like a garden too!

more birds around.
wonder if theses are nz native birds. hmm i think so!

Takahe!
so colour! so pretty!
a few of them here are injuried.

now! this confirms that the white headed duck is e male.
well, because we were observing them and imitating their sound, this white headed duck actually came "attacked" me. seriously!

ducks! pretty ducks!
my guess is, e black headed duck is e female, e white headed is e male.
often times, we'll see a black headed duck & white headed duck together.

Te Anau Wildlife centre!
here there are quite a lots of rare and even endangered nz specifies

on our journey back! back on e bridge.
somehow e view when we first walked thr it, and now, is different. e sky, e waterlevel...

we're within e woods!
i like e effect when sunshine shines thr e trees!

scenics during our walk!
nice!

walk walk walk! tramp tramp tramp!
here we go!

presenting e ever famous Kepler Track!
this bridge is amazing!

drove pass this trout observatory place, so we stopped by!
salmon and fishes in it.

found this boat on e beach, so i happily got into it!

Te Anan lake!
its pretty huh?
so peaceful!
well, as expected, not much pple ard. its e super off peak season now. but i like!

Te Anau city center!

*24th jun*
Day 5

its pie for breakfast! its yummy
and dad's fish & chip. he has been nagging n nagging at me for his fish & chip since he arrived.
more snow!
white! beautiful white!
partial green, partial white!

*excuse the blue-ish colour!

and! i finally see snow! as in snowing! snowing!
right infront of my eyes!
look at e roads! nice huh?
but but dangerous to drive thr, so i kept reminding dad to be extra careful!

on another stretch of road, cows!

ok! its really time to leave dunedin! =(
see who we met!
my precious!
hello! hello! how are u? are u cold? how's e snow out there?

next headed to Baldwin street- world's steepest street.
its here! here in dunedin. approx 10min drive from my house!

amazing amazing amazing!
snow! fresh snow!

yea!
making snow ball and throwing ard... woohoo!
look how deep e snow is!

tada! we've reached the white patch on e hill we saw from afar my house!
snow! a whole field of snow!
so exciting! i've never seen snow before!
and i get to see snow, before i leave dunedin!
its like a wish come true! =)

in e mean time, look who we met!
*hehe

and so, off we went. just when we were leaving my house, we spot this place up in e hills, white, covered with snow.
so we decided to check it out!

thats dad! enjoying himself "removing" the snow!

guess what we found with our car?
snow! a snow carried car!
woohoo! how amazing!

*23rd jun*
Day 4

its time to leave! time to leave dunedin! time to leave my willowbank! time to leave my room!
well, managed to pack my everything up.
and yea! thats me, refusing to get up! let me enjoy my bed for a while more, pls!

Friday, July 06, 2007

today been really cold.
so a nice hot steamboat will do the trick!
its almost like those i had in china last year... good enough, at least.

thats me playing with the exhibit. its heavy!
hello! hello! anyone home? *on e phone. well its actually like a earpiece to hear music. interesting huh?

in e other exhibition hall, there was this small hut.
trust me, its small. i think its height is like half of my height.
but we still crawled into it. *hehe

i like this so big wheel bicycle!

more cars!
i want to owe one too!

due to wet weather, we couldnt continue exploring penisular.
so plan B, to otago settler museum
so many nice old cars here.

by e time we walk for a while, e wind got bigger. and before we knew it it began to rain.
heavier and heavier. till it was really unbearable...
had to go agst e so strong wind upslope. no joke man!
by e time we reached into e car, it poured real hard!
such a pity, didnt manage to go down to the beach. didnt manage to see e total beauty of this place.

sandfly beach!
i've heard so much about this place. finally i'm here...
it was so so so windy!

along the way, on e road, guess who we met!
my precious!

lunch time!
so we found a cafe along the way.
aika made sushi for lunch for all of us! its yummy! made with love! so sweet of her. =)

say cheese!
it was so cold and windy! but still bearable!

we're at the tip of the penisular! where most activities and wildlife live!
here there's penguin, seal, seagull, albatross etc etc.
unfortunately, we didnt manage to see many this time. its e winter season!
thats e lighthouse for e ships. its otago habour too!

on our drive!
at otago penisular!
land land and more land!

22nd jun
*Day 3*

our car arrived! and its my least favourite colour car. =(
anyway now that we have a car. don't need to walk in the cold anymore! yuppie!
so headed to otago penisular!
a marine center, managed by university of otago!
there's lots of special, one of a kind, only in e otago region marine creatures there...
yesterday was a crocodile, today its a shark! *hehe

Thursday, July 05, 2007

cheers!
house wine vs hot chocolate! *hehe

then it was ROBBIE BURNS! jazz night!
woohoo!
dad managed to take close up of each of the players. for all e times i've been here with my friends, we wanted to take their pictures, but didnt dare to. well, my dad did it! *yea
they rox!

haha!
cheers to speights!

then it was beer tasting time.
so we got to taste 5 of speight's famous beer.
i personally like the original speight beer the best...
cool to be using the machine though. =p

there! that guy's my tour guide.
he's good!
and me in front of this steel huge contain that store the beer for fermentation. something like that.

beer anyone?
we were brought thr e history and behind of beer making... and how this world class beer company came about.
i'm not exactly a beer drinker nor lover, so i got to admit, i didnt know how to appreciate as much... well not as much as cadbury chocolates at least. *hehe
then it was to Speight factory!

then it was tea time!
at Nova cafe!
this time we had rookie road cheese cake! its yummy!
and chicken curry rice, which tasted no way like singapore chicken curry *hehe. but still nice in its own special way
and creamy salmon paste.

haha!
cute us!

after e tour!
beautiful cars!

its e tour time!
well camera not permitted...
but dad managed to take these from e screen during our briefing time! hehe

in e shop!
e teddy bear, really have e smell of chocolate. i wonder how long e smell will last though...
and look at e range of chocolate! all flavour! all types!

the gold chocolate mountain!
woohoo! it rox!

this is a small version of a chocolate machine!
i could just smell the smell of chocolate!

these are some older "version" of our ever famous cadbury chocolate.
its amazing! how things change thr e years!

wouldn't it be nice if the world is cadbury?
yea! for that moment, i feel like i'm in cadbury chocolate world!

these are cocoa beans!
i tried one! its soooo bitter!!! quite horrible taste.
its amazing how this thing can result it our yummy chocolates... hmmm

and what i have been looking forward to!
CADBURY FACTORY!
welcome to cadbury world!
see that gold gold mountain, there are actually small packets of the crunchies chcoclates.

in another room, guess who we found...
initially as i was walking thr e exhibits, i got a shock when i encounted this creature on e ground!
but its so funny taking these photos.
lucky, no one else was ard then. *phew!

next room!
lots of beautiful photos of scenics of New Zealand.
e photos, i notice are the "playing" of colours, water, reflection and sunlight.
and yea! that's real gold! its real!

taking a look around.
i heart the maori culture & society!

next stop: otago museum. this place is amazing... didnt know they have so many interesting things. if i knew, i would like visit this place earlier. and take my time looking around.
anyway this is the maori museum room.
well, its good to b able to put what i learnt into practise! so was trying to explain to dad mum what is what...

e 1st picture: walk thr it a little, and i'll reach suhui house! that's how close her house is to sch!
mummy standing in front of the theathe building...
and me on the field where carnival/"roadshows" are often being held. i think one of e highest traffic flow here... but but but when we were there then, there was hardly anyone. well, semester has ended for now
and look at the notice board! woohoo! i do enjoy just standing infront and reading what's for sales though... books! pillow! cars! etc

the ever famous and traditional otago clock tower.
every once in a while, in e day, there will be bus load of tourist stopping by here to take pictures.

21st jun
*Day 2 with daddy & mummy*

1st stop for the day! tour around university of otago!
i heart this university. =)

Wednesday, July 04, 2007

indeed, this place serve really yummy food.
its nice nice!
well, i havent had such high-class and pricey food for months!

after late lunch, we went walking along the stores... shopping!
then came dinner time...
to LONE STAR!
i heard so much abt this place from many of my friends...
so finally here i am!

yummy yummy!
*big mouth!

and we reached! velvet burger place.
wanted to let my parents try this yummy burger.
and yea! i really did bring my exam period to enjoy the exam deal. cool huh?

e beginning stretch of walk towards city...

e field is suppose to be a rugby and football field. but my friends told me that they should change the name to become a crossing field. well, it seems like more people use this field to cross then for sports everyday... hmmm
so it was a walk towards city center
stopped by at my ever-favourite donuts! yummy!

after suhui dropped us off at my house, load off their luggage, and off we go!
to explore dunedin city.
so this is the path i have to walk thr every day!
15mins walk to school. but seriously, it doesnt feel that long. infact, i enjoy the walk!

20th jun
*Look who's here!*

daddy! and mummy!
thanks to suhui for driving me to the airport to receive dad & mum.
as a welcome gift, gave dad my hardworked craved bone craving and mum my flax weaving flowers =)

Monday, July 02, 2007

=(
19th jun
*met up with my LG*

right after my Maori exam, had a quick meet up with my girls.
orh! my Maori paper. i came out of the hall in 1h 55min, out of the 3hr allocated. what an achievement!

*DVD session*

and so we had our overnight DVD session!
see a scandelous photo of the 2 of them. in MY room!

thats me in ling's beanie. it looks nice on me huh? i like!
anyway when i reach home, guess what i encounted!
my hall and kitchen!!!! *well actually its kind of normal *hehe

pose pose pose! fun times!
then after KTV, headed to ling house. my 2nd home! and this was my last time being there.
stupid faces we made. i'm going to miss danielle... i'm going to miss her "coffee? tea? milo?" expression.

19th jun
*KTV*

yea! exams over! yuppie! i survived! well it wasnt too difficult to start with. *hehe. esp when we only need to pass!
so it was time for some singing, or rather yelling with the gang!

and so the score.... 50-0.... All black-Aussie
what a score huh?

go ALL BLACK!
scrump! pile! push! pull! tackle!

we bought standing tickets.
well, i was expected a larger crowd, but it didnt turn out to be as large.
but it was still good.
its amazing how people here jeer!

16th jun
*Rugby Match- All Blacks J vs Aussie A*

here we are... at Carisbrook, Dunedin!
LIVE!

there was approx 20plus schools. i particular like these 2 schools. esp the black and while strip ones. looks like... prisoner.... so cute!
walk walk walk!
see what i walked thr!
but the view was great. although it was misty/cloudy.
but misty/cloudly view is a type of view by it self.
at times, because it was so so misty, we could hardly see distances. so i felt as in i was in cloud heaven and walking to the unknown! *hehe

16th jun
*Tramping to Pinapple Track*

i still have no idea why this track is called the Pinapple Walk. it has no resembance to pinapple. hmmmm
anyway it was a rather stressful walk. as in, the path was a challenge. we encounted muddy mud, snowy ice, slippy ice, melting ice, rocks of all sizes and shares, upslope, turn here turn down.
well, u can see my concentration on the tracks. those 2 pictures were unposed for, as in, i didnt even knew ling was snapping pictures.
but it was interest. a good experience.
i walked for 4-5hours? non-stop! an achievement!

15th jun
*Aika 21st birthday party*

photo stop!
pretty pretty!
i can just stand there and amazing the view for a really long time!

scenic during our drive.
weather was sunny and cool! perfect for a trip like this.
and it seems like we own the whole place. no other human around except us!

this used to be a whaling station.
going back to NZ history, NZ first settlers were whalers and sealers.
so this is where lots of activities took place.
well, i still cant image how a whale and seal can end up in this area of sea and land though.
but its lovely. red building in the middle of empty green field.

still part of Sam's family property! its huge!
sheeps!
working dogs!
hut of sheering my sheeps wool!

this is part of Sam's family farm!
baby calf!
so cute! so lovely!

this is Sam's house!
its huge! its located a few km up of dunedin. about half an hour drive?

there u go!
seashell!
and picking some nice ones back home!

4th jun
*Road Trip with Aika, Sam, Dish, Eri*

this is Doctor's Point.
apparently it is known that this area of household are mainly doctors and this is where many doctors hang out, or rather used to. now sure how true this "myth" is though
but its pretty!
lots of seashells!
~~~In Loving Memory of our beloved Angel Veronica Tan~~~
my friend was called home to be with the Lord on 21st june 2007.
i thank God for her wonderful life.
i thank God for sending her to me, as a friend. i remembered during my beginning time in dunedin, i prayed during my 2nd/3rd youth service in church. and right after that service, during cafe time, i met her and we became friends.
she is a woman of strong faith. i was inspired by her during church camp that we attended together.
she taught me that people come and go. and whats important is that we leave footprints and wonderful memories in each other's life (she wrote this is the birthday booklet she handmade for me). it came in really approperiate as it was the period when my time in nz was counting down and i had to say good bye to so many people.
but i'm sure i will meet her again, in heaven =)
a beautiful handmade booklet and photo frame veronica gave me for my birthday.
how sweet of her.
and to think, i think she only knew it was my birthday like 2-3days before my party.
pose! pose! pose!
and along the way, guess who we met! HAPPY FEET!
thats us at a coffee cafe.
posing! *hehe
14th jun
*farewell outing with veronica, jienu, flora*
right after my labour economics exam paper, headed to meet them.
at asian resturant! and thats flora being the waitress. well no one wanted to serve us, so we did it ourselves. seriously. flora actually wrote what we wanted and handed to the cashier.
and yea! flora bought a new hp. she was so happy about it!
group photo of all the trippers
and 2 sea lions... hmmm kissing? =p
we're jumping for joy!
thats flora poking thr the cookie cake i made for her. to put the candles in.
me and jienu! me and flora, my unni! and that camilla hiding in front of the door
26th-27th may
*Trip to St Martin Island*
this is the base to St Martin Island from mainland.
and the many little boats.
St Martin Island, also commonly known as Quarantine Island.
its located at Otago Habour.
this was the island, e 1st explorer of NZ stepped foot on hundreds of years ago when NZ was founded.
many years later, when more europeans, aka Pakeha, came into NZ, this became a quarantine island for immigrants with illness or suspect to be infected with contagious disease.
apart from being a quarantine island, there was a period in history, then this island was where prisoners were "kept"
so on this island, there r traces of the prison, hospital and structure for guns n weapons.
Let our earth be peaceful,
let our hearts be hopeful,
let out hands be gentle
for the love of God
Let our lives be fruitful,
beautiful and playful,
everyday be thankful
for the love of God.
Let our ways be mindful,
mending what is hurtful,
doing what is needful
for the love of God
Let our lives be fruitful,
beautiful and playful,
everyday be thankful
for the love of God.
he lives in willowbank too.
and like me, we've been spending lots of time at this cumberland flat.
its our extended stopover point. from campuse to willowbank. haha.
22nd apr
after dinner, i was quite high.
i thot of a perfect storyline of our cookies we just baked.
u see, ling made a few heart shaped cookies, so e story goes like this:
scene 1 aka pic 1: one fine day, ling presented her heart, very happily.
scene 2 aka pic 2: she decides to give this little heart of hers to faith
scene 3 aka pic 3: after faith bite ling's heart off, it was broken. ling was very upset and broke into tears
scene 4 aka pic 4: yet faith was so happy with it. well not becos faith broke ling's heart, but becos she has consumed a part of ling's heart, and she's now part of her.
*awwwww
*applause
*applause to the wonderful actress!
*yea i know. its stupid! haha
22nd apr
orh orh orh! let me tell u what i did this evening. as usual i got home. there was a party going on at my place. so bayan spotted me. he pulled me over, took my laptop n bag n specs from me.
now he told me i was suppose to do a hand stand on e 'cake' of beer and drink beer.
a 'cake' of beer is like this whole big container of beer. its as big as... those gas contain for cooking stove back in spore?
so i did. well how to say no when so many pple are ard watching n supporting? hehe.
so hands held tight on the 'cake', bayan n i donno who lifted my legs up. so hand stand position i was. klause, my other flat mate, pumped me some beer that i had to drink. so i drank.
bayan said its a tradition. but tradition of? well, it doesnt matter. hehe.
i cooked luncheam meat fried rice with egg & stir fried veggie.
my cooking today was tasteless. maybe thats becos i, e chef, in e blend mood.
so u believe that e way a dish is cooked is dependent on e chef's mood? i do! =p
my landing was very smooth! like some pro!
but i don't want to land! its too fast!
woohoo! woohoo! woohoo!
how shld i describe e feeling?
we're falling falling falling!!!!
we're flying flying flying!!!!
e silence, peacefulness of e air!
woohoo! e feel is so so so shiok!!!!
this is really what 'bird's eye view' really mean
and off we go!!!!!!
e most most most thrilling part is sitting at the door, with my leg hanging in e air. e part when Bob started to "shake" back n forth, and off e plane we went. THATS e MOST THRILLING part. e moment i got OFF the plane into free fall.
free fall from 12,ooofeet at 200km/h, at terminal velocity.
-12 degrees
up up up we go! up to 12,000feet.
e anticipation was almost "killing" me! but had a great time in e plane. being entertained by my cool photography/video man, Evan (see that hand there? that's his) & funky instructor, Bob (that guy behind me, obviously. hehe)
thats my plane! MY plane!
ok! all geared up in my suit! all ready to do!
but wait, pet talk and final check by my instructor, Bob, that everything's good. before we're all set to go! off into my plane.
while waiting for the moment of truth to arrive! =p
the while "building" is e office!
i thot i will be scared or nervous, but i seem to be more excited as i looked ard exploring e place.
weather was perfect. for me!
12th apr
the time has come! time for terminal velocity.
e process/period of deciding if i should really do this was up n down, up n down! it wasnt easy finally deciding to do it!
but so glad i did it! no regrets at all!
12th apr
we'll at Matuka city.
12th apr
welcome welcome to Nelson! according to many, Nelson is known for her sunny weather. and it is true, well at least much warmer and sunny-er as compared to Dunedin.
e houses r so pretty.
12th apr
drive drive drive! on our way to Nelson.
we did many crazy things in e mean time! hehe.
11th apr
yup! that carolyn n david in the hall, before we had to leave this beautiful farm.
well, so after we left, dinner, kfc. no more homecooked meal.
11th apr
see e yellow flowers? thats a type of weed!
alright so into carolyn garden, these are some of the many many plants she grows.
pretty huh?
11th apr
ok! so in e process of getting close to all these plants, we were actually weeding. now i know quite well what are weeds, what aint. well, some weeds are actually so pretty. too pretty to be plucked n thrown away, but its still a weed, so i hate to do it.
well, i accidentally pulled out this tiny carrot. opps!
yea! thats e amount of weed! we had approx 3 loads of it!
11th apr
apple tree, pear tree, a huge leafy veggie plant (my hand's there on purpose, to illustrate how huge e leaf is), and yam (which is grown undergrown, guess many didnt know that. hehe)
11th apr
more plants!
pumpkin, veggie, carrot, yam!
10/11th apr
ok! tea time again. looks yummy huh? its from the garden too. except for the lamp chop though. but the lamb meat from e neighbour who has a lamb farm apparently.
so we had pumpkin, potatoes, carrot, veggie.
for dessert we had some pudding. goes well with milk n cream. yummy
well to deserve such food, i worked for it. so thats me! at work!
10th apr
cant recall whats e 1st fruit. *hehe
see that cat? and e mouse in his mouse? well apparently after observing them for a while, they seem to be friends n playing the cat n mouse game, i'm serious.
yea! e peach i'm eating, i just pluck from e tree and it was THAT particular peach. *hehe
10th apr
more lettus, cabbage, e peach tree, berries too
10th apr
cant remember whats e first one! ling help!
spring onion, lettus, carrot plants
10th apr
we have lemon tree, beetroot, chile, pasily plant
10th apr
glimps into the many parts of e farm plantation.
see those white tags from the soil? i think those are like "name tags" for e plants.
e whole farm plantation is 4 hectors big
10th apr
while working hard, plucking weeds, david offered us peaches. plucked straight from his peach tree.
it taste different from those peaches we can get from the supermarket!
10th apr
for getting accomodation and food, we have to work for it!
so here i am being a farmer! a real farmer! in a real farm!
a whole pile of saw dust. had to scope e saw dust into the trolley, transport it to the planting ground, for david to spread it evenly over his daffodia plantation.
its fun! but tough work! learnt lots on e way too! abt his farm, plantation, how things are done, e process etc etc.
9th apr
presented with a delicious tea aka dinner. well dinner = tea.
e veggie, potatoes, corns are growth from their garden. freshly picked n cooked.
in e evening, we went for a "talk". about using herbs in cooking. my farm host, carolyn is e chairperson, david e treasure of this society. Daffodia Society of Dunedin. cool huh?
nono! those 2 persons in e pic, aint my farmhost. e lady in orange was e speaker. e guy was like e secretary recording what was said.
this is my favourite herb. i guess e speaker noticed that i paid special attention to this herb, at e end of e program, she gave it to me! how nice. its with me now. dried it. =)
9th apri
met up with carolyn at city library, then headed to our farmstay place!
so here we are!
*Franz Josef Glacier Walk*
on our way back to DUD, we stopped by the Glacier, i wasnt prepared for this amazing stop, so i was in slippers! imagine wering slippers to walk in the uneven rocky ground, its a challenge.
e walk from highway into right in front of Glacier took approx 1.5hrs? i was practically trying to figure my way carefully as i step on each individual rock, there's no pathway, due to the ever-changing water coast.
but this place is amazing. it used to be a whole big Ice Age.
as years & years & years pass, e ice has been melting. the river flowing down are ice being melted concurrently deep within e mountains that is unseens by us. Imaging how huge it is! wow!
!
